Our Approach to Learning
Founder's Story
My name is Danielle Smith and I am the founder of Acadence Education.
Since 2016, I have been passionate about advocating for high-quality early childhood education for children of all backgrounds. Through my work with young learners and families, I developed a deep appreciation for how the earliest learning experiences shape a child’s confidence, curiosity, and long-term academic success.
Over the years, observing how children think, learn, and grow has strengthened my belief that every child benefits from thoughtful guidance and strong foundational support. I created Acadence Education to provide personalized, in-home educational consulting that helps children build essential skills in literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, and early learning habits.
I earned my degree from Northern Virginia Community College in 2023 and am currently continuing my studies at George Mason University, where I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. My academic journey continues to deepen my understanding of how children learn and how families can best support their development.
Acadence Education was founded with the goal of partnering with families to strengthen early learning foundations and help children develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
When I am not working alongside families, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to helping children grow into confident, curious learners who are prepared for lifelong academic success.

Acadence Education's Philosophy
At Acadence Education, I believe that every child learns in their own way and deserves support that recognizes their unique strengths and needs. My approach focuses on helping children build strong academic foundations during the early years, when confidence and learning habits begin to take shape. Through individualized guidance, I work with children to strengthen essential skills such as early literacy, numeracy, attention, and problem-solving. Just as important, I value strong partnerships with families, because meaningful learning continues beyond our sessions. By working together, we can create supportive environments where children feel encouraged to explore, grow, and develop a lasting love of learning.
Child-Centered Learning
Every child learns in their own unique way. At Acadence Education, learning experiences are designed around each child’s individual interests, strengths, and developmental needs. By meeting children where they are and supporting their natural curiosity, we create meaningful learning experiences that encourage confidence and engagement.

Strong Academic Foundations
The early years of learning play a critical role in shaping long-term academic success. Acadence Education focuses on building strong foundational skills in early literacy, numeracy, attention, and executive functioning. These skills provide the structure children need to grow into confident and capable learners.

Family Partnerships
Families play a vital role in a child’s educational journey. Acadence Education values collaboration with parents and caregivers to create supportive learning environments both at home and during sessions. By working together, we can strengthen the foundation for each child’s continued growth and success.

Individualized Instruction
No two learners develop at the same pace. Through thoughtful observation and personalized strategies, Acadence Education provides guidance that supports each child’s learning style and developmental stage. This individualized approach helps ensure that children receive the support they need to progress with confidence.
